We’re going to Disneyland!

Just kidding. While Orange County may indeed be the home of Mickey and his famous friends, it’s also home to a variety of Peerfit studios that can accommodate every goal and fitness level. Here are some places we love to work out in and around Orange County.

Studios for strength

Many age-related health issues stem from a loss of muscle mass, known as sarcopenia. Luckily, regular strength training can combat loss of muscle, minimize sarcopenia, and studies have shown it can slow bone loss and potentially increase bone mass.

If you’ve never tried your hand (or leg) at kickboxing, or you just want to see what it’s like to work out in Citrus Ranch Park, these studios will help build up your kickboxing skills and overall strength.

Studios for balance

In addition to overall muscle loss, sarcopenia is also responsible for the loss of balance as we age, which then increases our chances of falling. It’s estimated that more than 1 in 4 adults over the age of 65 fall each year, which can potentially be very dangerous.

Fortunately, we can counteract the effects of sarcopenia when it comes to balance, too! Yoga is a great way to increase both balance and flexibility at any age, and these studios offer a wide range of styles to accommodate any comfort level. Studios for cardio

As we get older, the arteries in our hearts harden. This contributes to an increased risk of high blood pressure, which also increases the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and heart disease.

For these reasons, it’s recommended that adults get 150-300 minutes a week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75-150 minutes a week of vigorous-intensity. Cycling, walking, biking, and even swimming at your local pool are all great options for anyone looking for a cardio workout. Whether you prefer a more moderate class or something a little more intense, these studios will have you covered.
